Exploring Influential People in the Hispanic World

Introduction: You have been given a list of people/groups from a Hispanic country. You will sign up to do research with a partner for one of the following people/groups of your choice, research that person/group with your partner, and present a PowerPoint slide show as the final project.

Description: You and your partner will research to answer the following question about your chosen subject:

How were the accomplishments of this person/group influenced by their personal lives and the geo and sociopolitical environment of their country during the time they lived?

To answer this question each partner will be responsible for researching one of the sub questions listed below.

1) During the time period in which this person lived, what geo and sociopolitical events and/or trends were happening that were important to this person’s life?

2) What events in this persons’ life were instrumental in making them influential in the Hispanic world?

Your grade will be based on the following:

1) Participation in each day’s work

Note that you and your partner will receive one grade for the slide show, and each of you will also receive an individual grade based on your individual participation, notes, and works cited list.
