Semester Project Biology II

Investigate an environmental issue that affects our community and write a report of your investigation. Use at least five of the different sources provided to you for your information and list them at the end of your report. Use the following outline to write your final report. I. Introduction (100 points) Define and use the at least ten of the following vocabulary words in your introductory paragraph: ecology, environment, population, community, biotic, abiotic, habitat, producer, consumer, decomposer, ecosystem, water cycle, and carbon cycle.

II. Map and Description of our Community. (100 points)

□ Description and observations of the different biotic and abiotic factors in the community.

□ Map of the community, and diagram of the relationships between the biotic and abiotic factors.

III. Environmental Issue in our Community. (100 points)

□ Description of the environmental issue in your community that you have selected to investigate.

□ Description of your participation in a community service project that will contribute to positive change in your community.

IV. Conclusion (100 points)

□ Reflection on what you learned from this investigation of our community.

□ Reflection on the contribution you made to our community.
