There will always be persons who feel that they were unjustly treated or other persons who victimize others. Your class has just reviewed a war in which these cruelties and injustices happened on a huge scale. In general, do you think that war reparations or apologies are helpful to get beyond the terrible events or do you think they just punish the later generations and shame people who never committed the evil deeds?
You were asked to study the events of the war in countries other than the United States. It would be interesting to discover whether the U.S. was a victim or whether the U.S. committed great wrongs during that period. What do you know about the U.S. history during WW II?
